We begin at the San Zaccaria vaporetto (water bus) station, where your guide will give you an introduction to Venice. You will learn how the shape of the island was formed, and why early settlers decided to inhabit it.
Next, we will make our way to the Bridge of Sighs, perhaps the most famous bridge on the island. Your local guide will show you the bridge, explain why it was built and why it became known as a symbol of romance.
Formerly, the residence of the seat of the Venetian government, Doge's Palace is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the city's most well known landmarks.
Admire the stunning St. Mark's Basilica, one of the best known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture. Perhaps the most iconic church in Venice, your guide will explain the history of this beautiful building.
The Clock Tower is an early Renaissance building, which has housed Venetian families for more than 500 years. Your local guide will also share with you the story behind Venice's most famous icon, the Gondola.
