A day trip to Paris is the perfect way to make the most of a cruise ship stopover in the port of Le Havre. Enjoy a comfortable bus ride into the city and join your guide on a panoramic tour of the city's main sights, including the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Notre Dame and much more.

You will be welcomed in front of the cruise ship terminal and board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus to embark on a journey through the beautiful Norman countryside.

The journey from Le Havre to Paris takes approximately 3 hours.

When you arrive in Paris, the obligatory stop, opening up the Parisian atmosphere, will be the most famous monument in the world: the Eiffel Tower! Here you will meet a passionate local guide who will bring the city to life with his captivating stories and historical insights.

Then embark on a spectacular panoramic bus tour of the City of Lights. See the majestic Les Invalides, a sacred military site that houses the tomb of Napoleon, one of the world's most famous generals. Then cruise along the Seine, where your guide will show you Place de la Concorde, one of the most important sites of the French Revolution. Admire the façade of the Louvre (unfortunately the pyramid cannot be seen from the bus) and drive into the historic centre of Paris.

Visit the colourful Latin Quarter, full of narrow streets and charming cafes that will fill you with  French atmosphere. Once admired by Ernest Hemingway himself, the Latin Quarter still houses bookshops, publishing houses and the historic Sorbonne University.

Don't forget the Pantheon, where France commemorates its greatest heroes: Marie Skłodowska-Curie, Voltaire, Victor Hugo and many others are buried here.

Admire the twin towers of the legendary Notre-Dame Cathedral, whose catastrophic fire held the world's breath in 2019, but today stands as a monument to the will of the French people.

End your tour by heading up the Champs-Élysées, the most famous fashion avenue in the world. Visit the towering Arc de Triomphe, from which you will descend to take photos and, if time permits, take a break for a snack and a quick shopping spree on the Champs Elysees.

At the end of the tour, your guide will bid you farewell and you will be transported back to the cruise ship port in Le Havre.

Paris is a long way from the port, so time for sightseeing is limited. This tour makes the most of the time available by taking a full tour with a licensed local guide and a short lunch break, but please note that there will be no time for major shopping or dining. If you are interested in a tour with more free time, we recommend our other Paris tour: "Shop & Dine", which includes a short panoramic tour and more free time to explore the Champs-Elysees. Due to limited time in port, it is unfortunately impossible to combine shopping, dining and sightseeing.

Adapting the tour to the ship's schedule gives you the opportunity to make the most of the time available and relieves you of the worry of getting back to port on time. The tour provides pick-up directly from the port and delivery to your destination with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the day.

Meeting and Pickup

Tours begins at the port of Le Havre, outside the cruise ship terminal. Our hosts will be holding up a "VEXPERIO" sign.

Tours typically start 30 minutes after cruise ship's arrival.

1. Port of Le Havre

Our fascinating trip to Paris begins at the cruise ship port of Le Havre.

In front of the cruise ship terminal, you will be greeted by our welcoming hosts. You will then board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus and set off on a journey through the beautiful Norman countryside.

Our tours are tailored to the ships' docking times, ensuring a quick start and punctual return to port with plenty of time before the ship departs.

As Paris is far from the port, time for sightseeing is limited. This tour offers a full guided tour with a licensed local guide and a short lunch break, but please note that there will be no time for shopping or dining.

If you are interested in a tour with more free time, we recommend our other Paris tour: "Shop & Eat", which includes a short panoramic tour and more time to explore the Champs-Elysees. Due to limited time in port, it is unfortunately impossible to combine shopping, dining and sightseeing.

2. Eiffel Tower

Our first stop will be the world's most iconic landmark - the Eiffel Tower! Located in the heart of Paris, the Eiffel Tower is not just a simple attraction - it is a cultural icon that represents engineering excellence and France's rich history.

Built in 1889 for the World's Fair, the Eiffel Tower was named after its visionary designer, Gustave Eiffel, and once held the title of the world's tallest man-made structure. Today, it towers over Paris, spreading an atmosphere of tranquillity and romance over the city that continues to captivate visitors from all over the world.

Here you will meet your experienced local guide who will ensure that your next few hours are unforgettable. They will also help you take the perfect photo to commemorate your visit to this must-see attraction. With our team of knowledgeable and engaging guides, you are in good hands.

Please note that due to security precautions, a visit inside the Eiffel Tower may take 2 to 3 hours, so we will only be visiting from the outside.

3. Les Invalides

After the Eiffel Tower, you'll get back on the bus for a panoramic tour of Paris.

Up first: Les Invalides, a sacrosanct monument for the French army. Built in the 17th century as a military hospital and retirement home for war veterans, it is now a symbol of French military history and power. It houses several museums and is also home to the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte.

4. Place de la Concorde

See the famous Place de la Concorde and marvel at its grandeur! This iconic Parisian square will delight you with its ornate fountains and historic Luxor Obelisk. During the French Revolution, it was an extremely important site where the infamous guillotine was located.

5. Louvre Museum

Glide along the River Seine and take in spectacular views of the city.

Admire the ornate façade of the Louvre: once the palace of the kings of France, now the most celebrated museum in the world.

Please note that the Louvre Pyramid sadly cannot be seen from the bus.

6. Pantheon

The highest honour any Frenchman can receive is burial in the Pantheon. This magnificent neo-classical building, reminiscent of its counterpart in Rome, is the final resting place of such notables as Voltaire, Marie Skłodowska-Curie and even American dancer Josephine Baker.

As you make your way around the Pantheon, admire the breathtaking beauty of the site's architecture and culture.

7. Notre Dame

This true masterpiece of Gothic architecture suffered significant damage in the infamous 2019 fire, but remains an iconic symbol of Paris.

Please note that due to ongoing renovations, the cathedral is closed to visitors, and scaffolding may obstruct the view from the outside. Your local guide will assess whether it's feasible to explore the area on foot, time and view permitting. If possible, we will take a short walk before concluding the tour.

8. Champs-Élysées.

Drive down the most famous avenue in the world, lined with theaters, cafes, and luxury shops, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Paris. The Champs-Élysées has been a symbol of French elegance and style for centuries, attracting millions of visitors every year.

9. Arc de Triomphe

Standing majestically at the end of the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe is a must-see attraction that perfectly captures the grandeur and glory of Paris. Built in honour of those who fought and died for France, this iconic monument offers breathtaking views of the city. What's more, its incredible history and symbolism, guarantees delight beyond the pretty views. Get off the bus for the perfect photo of this impressive monument.

If time permits, you'll have 30-45 minutes for a quick shopping, snack and stroll along the Champs-Elysees.

Visiting the Eiffel Tower during our tours:
We'd like to inform you that our standard itineraries do not include an opportunity to visit the Eiffel Tower's interior. Here are the reasons and some considerations if you still wish to explore it on your own:
During the high season, it is recommended to allocate at least 1.5 to 2 hours for the entire Eiffel Tower experience, even with a skip-the-line ticket. This is due to the time required for security checks, ascent, and descent.
Our two tour options allocate 15-30 minutes at the Eiffel Tower. If you wish to explore further, you may visit independently and rejoin the tour by taxi later. However, please note that you'll need to locate the tour group on your own, as shared tours follow a predetermined route and cannot be delayed for individual preferences.
While we understand your enthusiasm for visiting the Eiffel Tower, we generally advise against it during our tour, as it may consume most of your time in Paris on a busy day. Nonetheless, if it's a priority for you, we'll do our best to support your decision and help facilitate the experience.
For a more personalized experience, we offer customizable guided private or semi-private tours with licensed Parisian guides who can create the perfect itinerary just for you. If you're interested, please contact us for a custom quote, and let's work together to create an unforgettable Parisian adventure.
