  • Find out about Estonia's history from your local guide

Overview

Your guide will meet you at the cruise port (directly outside the cruise port gate) and by private car/bus you will be driven to the city's upper Old Town to see the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, St. Olav’s Church and the Houses of Parliament, before taking in beautiful panoramic views from the top of Toompea Hill.

The romantic cobblestone streets, charming red roofs, and quaint but well-tended houses are emblems of the best-preserved old town in Northern Europe. Explore the historic marketplace of the lower Old Town, today still bustling with bargain hunters browsing the wide variety of products on display. Your tour guide can give you the inside scoop on finding the most authentic souvenirs. Next, enjoy some free time to shop in the Master's Courtyard and St. Catherine's Passage where you can discover the skills of the master craftsmen and local artisans.

The highlights of the Old Town walk include the fortified Walls of Tallinn, the Town Hall, and one of the oldest, still functioning, pharmacies in the world. Our professional, friendly, and knowledgeable guides have a vast area of expertise, so feel free to ask them questions about this magnificent city.

The second part of the tour will take you outside of the city center to give you a broader view of the region. On the scenic drive, you will encounter breathtaking vistas by the Pirita-Kadriorg seaside. Discover the Kadriorg Art Museum and gardens, which were built by Peter the Great for his wife Catherine I, in the baroque style that was popular in Europe at the time, before visiting the Presidential Palace, the KUMU Estonian Art Museum, the Song Festival Grounds, St Bridget’s Convent Ruins, and finally the Olympic Village.

At the end of the excursion, the guide will bring you back to the port, where you can comfortably reboard your ship with a host of new memories.
