Overview

With our private tour of Tallinn, you will have a perfect day in what is considered by many to be the best-preserved medieval town in Northern Europe. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and upon catching your first glimpse of the beautiful red tiled roofs, hidden courtyards and cobblestone streets you will understand why.

Our tour begins with a brief history of Estonia and Tallinn and then continues through the Old Town, which is divided into lower and upper districts. Along the way, you will see the Gothic Town Hall, as well as the medieval City Wall. In the Upper Old Town, known as Toompea, you will see the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Dome Church as well as the Estonian Parliament. From here you can also enjoy beautiful views over the city.

Itinerary

1. Pick-up

Your hosts will meet you at the chosen pick-up point. They will be waiting there with a greeting board with your name on it

2. Tallinn Upper Old Town

Your local professional tour guide will bring you to a comfortable air-conditioned bus which will then take you to the Upper Old Town. During this transfer you can admire the beautiful parks surrounding Old Town.

3. Toompea Castle

View the stunning Toompea Castle standing majestically at the Toompea Hill.

4. Parliament of Estonia

Our walking tour starts at the Upper Old Town. Here you will see the Estonian Parliament.

5. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Our next stop will be one of Tallinns highlights: the stunning Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

6. St Mary's Cathedral

After a stroll through the narrow cobble-stone lanes you will visit the oldest church in Tallinn – Dome Church (Virgin Mary Cathedral) and from the Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform experience the magnificent panoramic views.

7. Tallinn Lower Old Town

From here we will descend to the much livelier Lower Old Town. The main attractions here are the gothic style merchant houses and the Town Wall with its beautiful towers.

8. St. Nicholas' Orthodox Church

You will also see the beautiful St Nickolas Church and Holy Ghost Church.

9. Tallinn Town Hall

The tour continues on to the historical city center – Town Hall Square where one the oldest pharmacies in the world can still be seen next to the 15th century Town Hall.

10. St. Catherine's Passage

Next, you will walk through the famous St Catherine’s Passage and admire the private studios of the local artists.

11. Viru Gates

The tour ends at the Viru Gate where you will be given 2 hours of free time to have lunch and to do some shopping.

- For groups of 1-6 people: free cancellation up to 48 hours in advance.

- For groups of 7+ people: free cancellation up to up to 7 days ahead. From 6 days in advance to 48 hours in advance, a 50% fee will apply.

- Cancellations less than 48 hours ahead or no-shows result in no refund.
