The tour begins in Le Havre, a beautiful city that bears the reminders of the Second World War. Among other things, there is the German Cemetery, which will be the first stop of our tour. The poignant site opens up the historical atmosphere of the tour, where, among the meticulously placed tombstones, reflection on the victims of the war arrives.

Your next stop will be Pointe du Hoc, an important site that witnessed the bravery of American Rangers in the past. Your guide will talk about the strategic importance of the site and the legendary deeds of the soldiers, and the view from the top of the cliff, will allow you to visualise those moments. 

We will then travel to Omaha Beach, the site of one of the most intense battles during the D-Day landings on 6 June 1944. Having witnessed the dramatic events of those days, it still retains an air of solemnity today and remains a place of remembrance for the courage and sacrifice of the Allied forces. Follow the footsteps of history through this vast arc of golden sand stretching along the Normandy coast, discovering a landscape that offers a unique perspective.

To close the circle of history, we will conclude at the iconic American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Rows of white tombstones, it is the resting place of more than 9,000 brave American soldiers who gave their lives for freedom. Meeting and Pickup

When you debark from your cruise ship, head outside the cruise terminal. Your guide will be waiting outside the security gate with a sign that says VEXPERIO.

Please note: we do NOT meet at the parking lot directly next to the cruise ships. Please head outside of the security gate - it is about a 3-minute walk, 1000ft / 300m.

Itinerary

10 hours

1. Port of Le Havre

Your tour begins with a seamless pick-up from the port of Le Havre. Your private guide will be waiting for you at the port or hotel and will introduce you to the historic atmosphere of the tour. 

2. German Cemetery

The tour will start at the German Cemetery, where you will be confronted with a different perspective of the Second World War. It is the eternal resting place of more than 21,000 German soldiers who fell during the D-Day fighting. A peaceful walk through the cemetery will be the perfect moment for reflection.

3. Pointe du Hoc

We will then visit the legendary Pointe du Hoc. This uneven cliff was one of the most significant battle points during the D-Day invasion. Pointe du Hoc is a testament to the extraordinary courage and determination, but also to the strategic genius of the Allied commanders. Look from the summit to the English Channel, just as the soldiers of the American Rangers once did. 

4. Omaha Beach

We will then proceed to the site of direct fighting during D-Day, the infamous Omaha Beach. This place further has the heavy atmosphere of the dramas that ripped away during the invasion. Huge sacrifices on both sides, the determination of the soldiers. You will be able to learn fascinating historical facts about the intense battle that took place on this stretch of the Normandy coast.

5. Lunch

Take a break at Omaha Beach to enjoy a meal and relax in the beautiful surroundings before continuing your journey through Normandy.

6. American Cemetery

Our final stop on this solemn journey is the American Cemetery, a hallowed ground overlooking Omaha Beach. Set in a tranquil setting, this sacred site serves as the final resting place for more than 9,000 American soldiers who fell during the Normandy invasion. Spend time visiting this sacred site while paying your respects.

7. Port of Le Havre

At the end you will be driven back to the port of Le Havre. This will be an opportunity to relax after the tour and enjoy the beauty of France.

  • For groups of 1-6 people: free cancellation up to 48 hours in advance.
  • For groups of 7+ people: free cancellation up to up to 7 days ahead. From 6 days in advance to 48 hours in advance, a 50% fee will apply.
  • Cancellations less than 48 hours ahead or no-shows result in no refund.
