Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel or a pre-arranged meeting point. You will then see the Reichstag, which burned down after Hitler’s rise to power but now stands as a bold symbol of modern German democracy. Pass through the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin’s most iconic landmark before walking in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, and crossing the border at Checkpoint Charlie, the frontier of the Cold War. Next, journey through the iconic concrete stelae of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and learn about the tragedy of the holocaust, before standing in the heart of Museum Island, the city’s architectural centre and a UNESCO world heritage site.
You will visit the city's former Jewish Quarter, where you can marvel at the Moorish splendour of the New Synagogue, as well as the old Nazi government quarter where you can see remaining examples of Nazi architecture, such as the former SS and Gestapo Headquarters, and the site of Hitler’s Bunker.
