Explore the streets of historic West Berlin, still one of the most vibrant and popular areas of one of the most thrilling cities in the world. The live-streamed tour will take you on an exciting adventure featuring key historic locations and events. From Berlin's glamorous take on the Roaring 20s, to the horrific Night of Broken Glass, you will learn about Berlin's colourful, yet often tragic history. You will witness the physical legacy of the bombing of Berlin during WWII, and the gradual rebirth of West Berlin into an epicentre of culture and leisure during the Cold War. Admire the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, still riddled with bullet holes and scarred by bomb damage, to this day a symbol of the unspeakable pain and suffering caused by war. See KaDeWe - the second largest department store in Europe - itself a survivor of an Allied bomber plane crash. Re-opened in 1950 as a symbol of West Germany's economic revival, the KaDeWe still boasts 50,000 visitors per day.

We begin the tour with a look at KaDeWe, the second largest department store in Europe. Let your local guide tell you the history of the building, from its struggles during the Nazi period, to its partial destruction during WWII and subsequent reconstruction during the Cold War.
See one of the oldest underground train stations in Berlin, dating back to 1902.
Walk by the beautiful Elephant Gate of the Berlin Zoo as your local guide tells you about the devastating bombing of the area that led to wild animals roaming the streets of the city.
As part of the redevelopment of the area, the Europa Center, once the highest building in Berlin, opened in 1963 as a leisure complex, modelled on a typical US shopping mall.
See one of the most well known streets in Berlin, the Kurfürstendamm. Learn how the avenue was the center of nightlife in the1920's before being targeted during the Nazi's Night of Broken Glass and then heavily damaged by air raids during WWII. Nowadays, the Kurfürstendamm is lined with designer shops, restaurants and hotels, earning it the title of Berlin's Champs-Élysées.
Originally built by Kaiser Wilhelm II to honor his grandfather, the Church was heavily damaged during WWII. Your local guide will explain the history of the building and how its popularity among the West Berliners prevented it from being demolished.
