Nestled in the heart of the Tramuntana mountain, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2011, Mallorca’s most spectacular village has over the years seduced many famous characters: Frederic Chopin, the Archduke of Austria, Garcia Lorca and many more fell in love with Valldemossa and chose to settle here. To understand the attraction this unique village operates on its visitors, we will visit its most famous locations. From spectacular viewpoints to hunting palaces, Carthusian monasteries to garden labyrinths, these places will guide us in the discovery of this beautiful and prosperous village from the 13th century onwards, unveiling a few secrets and legends in the process.

The entire tour is designed to be as interactive as you desire. You can ask questions, you can request to go back and look at something again, you have all the freedom and participation of a private walking tour, all from the comfort of your own home.

The video calling software used for the tour is called Zoom. You will need to have it downloaded on your laptop, tablet or cellphone – with a connection to speakers or headphones – in order to participate in the tour. Also, remember to keep an eye on the time difference when choosing a time for your private virtual experience, as all times stated are in Mallorca time!

The tour will start with a 360 degree, panoramic view from the best look-out in Valldemossa. You'll take a deep breath, embracing the entire village, whilst getting a glimpse into what life is like for the locals.

2. The Palace of King Sanç I

Learn about Jaume II, the first monarch of the exclusive Kingdom of Mallorca, who built this palace as a residence for his son, Sancho, to help him find relief from his asthma. It is believed that he had it built on an old Moorish fortress: Mussa, from which the name of Valldemossa would come.

3. The Carthusian Monastery

By continuing our walk through beautiful alleyways, we'll make our way to another important sight for Valldemossa's history. The Charterhouse was founded as a royal residence and later converted into a monastery of the Carthusian order. Your guide will tell you the story behind this medieval building.
