From the Façade of the Alcazar fortress, which you might recognize from Game of Thrones, to the General Archive of the Indies, where a letter of George Washington is preserved, and on to the largest Gothic-style cathedral in the world, Seville is full of history no matter where you look. Originally a mosque built using Roman ruins, the building was later converted into a Cathedral and its minaret into a bell tower. Your local guide will explain why this location has been a sacred site to different religions for more than eight centuries.
This is a private live virtual tour. Our professional, local guide will be showing you Seville’s most fascinating sights in real time, directly from the streets of Seville. You will be connected via video call and you can then explore the city together. With your experienced guide you will see more than just the Seville of today, you’ll also get a glimpse back in time because each tour is complemented with an excellent selection of multimedia. You will be shown historic photographs and videos to help with explanations, stories and the historical context of Seville's incredible and turbulent past. You can’t get any closer to history without a time machine!
The entire tour is designed to be as interactive as you desire. You can ask questions, you can request to go back and look at something again, you have all the freedom and participation of a private walking tour, all from the comfort of your own home.
The video calling software used for the tour is called Zoom. You will need to have it downloaded on your laptop, tablet or cellphone – with a connection to speakers or headphones – in order to participate in the tour. Also, remember to keep an eye on the time difference when choosing a time for your private virtual experience, as all times stated are in Seville time!
Starting at Triumph Square, your guide will show you Seville's beautiful Cathedral, Santa María de la Sede, as well as the Giralda tower, one of the city's most iconic buildings.
Stand at the Prince's Gate, for a close up look at a replica of El Girlaldillo, the statue mounted atop the Giralda.
Seville's Cathedral has a total of 15 doors all built in the cardinal directions. The Door of Assumption is the main door in the center of the west facade. Admire its beautiful neo-Gothic decorations, which are incredibly well preserved.
See the Gate of Forgiveness, a stucco engraved horse-shoe-shaped gate, originally part of the Almohad mosque that previous stood on the site of today's Cathedral.
