This tour starts and ends directly at your cruise ship.
You will be met directly at your cruise ship and transferred in a private vehicle to Hamburg. The journey takes roughly 2 hours.
Upon arrival in Hamburg you will be met by your own private English-speaking guide for a guided tour of the city centre. Our first stop is Hamburg’s Old Town Square, with it’s stunning, sky-scraping, neo-renaissance Town Hall.
Next we witness where the Great Fire of 1842 started on and see Hamburg’s iconic ‘Kontor' buildings.
Moving on we stop to admire one of the finest examples of north German, neo-gothic architecture, and witness the devastation caused by Allied bombing raids in WWII.
As we continue into the heart of the medieval city we cross one of Hamburg’s myriad canals using the oldest bridge in the city.
Next we explore the city’s first UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site and the largest warehouse district in the world.
We then finish the guided tour under the eaves of Hamburg’s state-of-the-art concert hall – a true modern architectural gem and one of the most acoustically advanced concert halls on the planet.
You will then have approximately 1 hour of free time to explore Hamburg’s city centre further on your own. Your local guide will be happy to provide tips to aid you in your explorations.
You will then be driven back to Kiel and dropped off directly at your cruise ship.
