This shared shore excursion begins with a scenic drive towards Esplanadi Street and the Grand Mannerheim Boulevard. Along the way, we will see the Opera House, Finnlandia Concert Hall, the National Musueum, Parliament Building, and the Presidential Palace.
We will have an opportunity to take pictures at the famous Sibelius Park, named after the renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, The main attraction here is the Sibelius Monument, an abstract grouping of hundreds of steel pipes. After the park, we continue on to the Olympic Stadium, the site of the 1952 summer Olympics. Next, we arrive at the Rock Church, carved directly out of the side of the mountain and topped by a magnificent copper dome. Because of its acoustics, it is often used as a concert venue. The next church on the itinerary is the Uspensky Cathedral, the largest Orthodox church in Western Europe. As we drive through the city center we will also see the Helsinki Central train station with its famous clock tower as well as the beloved Havis Amanda fountain, voted year after year as the most beautiful sculpture in the Finnish capital. The tour ends with free time by the seaside Market square, where you can try some local delicacies. Afterward, you will return to the shuttle which takes you back to your ship.
You will be greeted at the port of Helsinki by our professional tour guide. We will then bring you to our modern, air-conditioned vehicle.
After taking off from the port, you will be taken on a panoramic drive via the beautiful picturesque Esplanadi Street towards the famous Mannerheim Boulevard.
We will also pass the stunning Presidential Palace, National Museum, and Opera House.
You will also pass by the Finlandia Concert Hall, as well as the Parliament Building
Next we will stop at the famous Sibelius Park, with the Sibelius Monument: hundreds of steel pipes honoring the great Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
Next, we will see the historic Olympic Stadium - the location of the summer 1952 Olympics.
Afterward, you will be taken to one of the highlights of this trip: the spectacular Rock Church. This extraordinary place of worship is unlike any other it is carved into the side of the mountain, made out of solid rock, with a copper dome.
You will also see the largest orthodox church in Europe: the Uspensky Cathedral. We will pass by the Market Square and the main Central Station with its famous clock tower.
At the end of the sightseeing, you will have some free time for shopping and food, by the spectacular divine female statue of Havis Amanda the most beloved monument in all of Finland!
At the end of the tour, we will bring you back to your cruise ship.
Our representatives will be waiting for you outside the terminal entrance.
We adjust each tour’s starting time to the docking times of the cruise ship. In case a cruise ship is late or changes its itinerary, we amend the tour starting time accordingly.
In the event of heavy traffic, road blockages, special events, or unforeseen circumstances the tour itinerary may be subject to change. We cannot take responsibility for such incidents and refunds will not be provided.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off back at your cruise ship.
